Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
When a visitor types a name, location, or other term into a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. West Carroll Parish Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its separate privacy policy, terms, and retention practices.
Messages Sent to Us
An email or contact-form message may include a name, return address, and any information the sender chooses to provide. We retain a message as needed to review and answer it. Contact messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or is necessary to respond to a valid legal demand.
Details Collected Automatically
Basic technical and usage data may be recorded when a page loads. This information helps operate the site, measure traffic, and diagnose faults. It may include:
- The internet protocol address used for the visit
- Browser name, browser version, and similar software details
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and the amount of time spent on them
- The referring website or source, when available
- The date and time associated with a request
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support analytics or advertising functions. A browser can block, remove, or limit cookies through its settings. Some features may load differently or may not work as intended when cookies are disabled.
Reasons We Use Data
Information is used only for ordinary site operations, service routing, measurement, and support. Those uses include:
- Keeping pages available, responsive, and functional
- Sending a search request to the partner service that processes it
- Learning which West Carroll Parish record pages visitors find useful
- Finding errors, preventing misuse, and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may be selected according to likely interests
Links and Outside Services
Pages may link to West Carroll Parish Sheriff information, court records, Louisiana corrections resources, release and custody portals, or third-party search tools. After a visitor follows an outside link, the destination's privacy policy and data practices apply. West Carroll Parish Released Inmates does not control how those government offices, vendors, or other websites collect, retain, secure, or disclose information.
Advertising partners may use their own cookies, pixels, or related technologies to measure activity and select ads across different websites. That tracking occurs through the partner's systems and is governed by the partner's notices and controls, not by this site's storage.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be handled by parties that support a requested function, measure site use, deliver advertising, or act under lawful authority. Those recipients can include:
- Search partners that receive and process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that compile traffic and performance information
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertisements
- Law enforcement or another government body responding to a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or other binding legal process
Safeguarding Information
Reasonable, commonly used administrative and technical practices are applied to information under our control. No website, network, transmission method, or internet-connected storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that data will never be intercepted, lost, misused, or accessed without authorization.
Visitors Younger Than 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or legal guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion of that submission.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights can differ by location and by the type of information involved. Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify the request, a visitor may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal information held by this site
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate
- Delete personal information where an applicable rule permits erasure
- Opt out of certain processing when that choice is legally available
A request concerning data held by a third-party search partner, analytics service, advertising network, sheriff, court, or corrections agency must be submitted to that entity. We cannot access or erase records in another organization's system.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised when site practices, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date when appropriate. Continued use after an update means the revised practices apply to later visits.
